WEBINAR: Fact or Fiction - LEED Buildings Come at a Premium Price?

Tuesday, January 17th, 2023

Virtual Session
12:00 - 1:00 PM

About the Presentation:

Are LEED projects just more expensive or do they deliver an ROI?

In this webinar, we’ll review the results of Autocase’s economic analysis on sustainable building designs.

In 2021, the City of San Antonio began reviewing multiple green building guidelines that align with its climate goals. Many internal discussions revolved around which guidelines and certifications led to better performing buildings and long-term cost savings.

To resolve the debate, the Office of Sustainability and Public Works commissioned Autocase to conduct a cost-benefit analysis comparing multiple building rating systems: Build San Antonio Green (local standard), LEED Silver, and LEED Gold. The results of the analysis will inform the City on how to develop a new sustainability criteria for 2022 bond projects.

Throughout the webinar, you’ll be able to preview:

  • Model assumptions
  • Model inputs and costing data
  • Energy consumption comparisons
  • Preliminary Triple Bottom Line results

To access the final results when they’re published, you can email sustainability@sanantonio.gov, follow us on social media or LinkedIn, or sign up for updates from the Office of Sustainability here.
